Cruelty-Free products, why?

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

A lot of industries thrive on the fact that they can produce products and test them in the cheapest way possible, on animals. When a consumer buys such a product, they are often not aware of the process that was set in place to produce this product. Which means a lot of people don't think about how products are tested, nor do they get all the facts straight, because no brand want to be know for testing on animals. Sadly, a lot of the known brands' production processes include testing on animals.

The animal right movement is an organisation founded to defend the rights of animals and fight against the abuse. The organisation came up with a 'cruelty-free label'. It is set in place to give customers a way of knowing when a product was produced in an animal friendly way and when it was not. Whenever this label can be seen on a product you can be sure that no animal was harmed during the making of product.

Whenever finding 'vegan' label on a product, the same rules applies. Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products. This means that they do not eat, nor do these people use any products that have anything to do with animals. This label implies not only that animals weren't harmed or used to test the product, but also that the product does not contain any animal products (like eggs, milk or honey).
